Facebook Business Pages

Facebook profiles are not for business, Facebook Pages are for businesses. Every day I get a friend request from a business, the problem is, if you use a personal profile for business, Facebook can and does turn it off - meaning you lose everything!

Although you can at the moment, convert your profile to a business page, just follow the instructions here: http://www.facebook.com/help/?page=18918

Why Convert My Personal Profile to A Facebook Page?

There's many good reasons to do it, not least a personal profile used for business is a violation of Facebooks Terms of Service (you'll lose ALL of your content if your caught)

  • A Page is searchable - Google will actually index your Facebook page - It won't your profile page.
  • You don't need to be logged into Facebook to view it - Your page is viewable to all
  • Insights - Facebook Pages have useful stats to highlight visitor statistics / demographics, personal profiles do not.
  • No limit on "likes" or "fans" - Personal profiles are limited to 5000
  • Integration into your website
So crack on and get your Facebook Page sorted - this link will get you started: https://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php?migrate
